It is Never too Late to Dream Again – Wangari Methu, Thika-Kenya | Ep 29.

In which
area of life have you been most successful and comfortable to share with the
world about?
Career and family

What
inspired you to pursue this journey, and how did you overcome
initial challenges?
I have a deep desire to positively impact people. I did not know how I
would achieve this calling. In my teenage I joined a Church organization giving
up all my dreams of a career and family. Seventeen years down the line I took
courage to face my life; I was not happy. It was a scary place. My age mates
had moved on in their careers and marriage. I didn’t have relevant work
experience for my dream career and had no savings. I had myself, a supporting
parent and siblings. With courage I began my life again.

Please share a significant
moment or decision that played a significant role in your success?
After working as a manager in several
institutions I decided to take a leap into executive coaching, which was a long
cherished dream. The program required a steep investment. I negotiated for
friendly payment terms and got a soft loan from a family member. Happily, I got
my coaching certification last year. I am excited to walk with my clients in
their respective professional and personal journeys
.

How do you navigate work-life
balance and maintain your well-being amidst the success?
I happen to be interested in personal
productivity management. I use proven tools and strategies to be effective at
work. That leaves me with time to focus on my family and self-esteem.

What advice
would you give to aspiring women on a similar journey or who dream of the same
kind of success?
Life
offers you many options to move ahead. Do not let yourself get stuck in a path
that is making you unhappy. Start with where you are and what you have.

In the face of setbacks, how do
you stay resilient and continue to thrive in your journey?
I have a good support system. Somehow God has
always sent me someone to walk with me at every phase of my journey. I only
need to trust.
